About Hideaway Hair
Est. 2021
Hideaway hair is owned by a local couple: Amie and Adam who have lived in and around Te Awamutu their whole lives. When not in the salon you can find them spending time with their three gorgeous young daughters.
At Hideaway Hair we use top-of-the-range hair care. We chose Wella as our main source of retail range and in salon colour as we have researched and trialled many brands over the years, and nothing can compare. With over 140 years of expert knowledge, we believe they are the best in the business. As we are a sustainable salon, they fit perfectly into our eco-friendly ethos.

Meet the Team
Amie
Along with her partner she is the creator of our Hide Away, after working in various salons she has taken her experience and knowledge and created a unique space with relaxing & calming vibes, something fresh and new for Te Awamutu.
She is very passionate about the hairdressing industry and loves the bond she has with her clients.
“extreme makes overs” for her clients is what excites her the most.
Bonus fact: she’s the mum so if you’ve come here to Hide Away from your kids, great because so has she.
Kristal
Kristal is a local girl & has been hairdressing in Te Awamutu for the past 6 years
She is passionate about balayage & styling long hair but also has an eye for detail when it comes to a short bob
She is super excited to see her existing clients in the salon & meet new ones along the way
She is a busy mum of two boys and volunteers her spare time to the St John youth program
Sam
Sam & her husband moved to NZ from South Africa in 2019 and absolutely love it here.
After nearly 11 years as a stylist, she brings a lot of experience and knowledge with her, you will all be in safe & talented hands.
She enjoys the relationships she builds with her clients and loves to make them feel amazing!
She has a passion for long hair and creating beautiful blondes.
Fun fact - She’s obsessed with dogs, crime docos, and wine. Thats why she fits into our team perfectly.
Sarah
Sarah is a very experienced hair stylist with over a decade of hair knowledge and skill.
She has a passion for soft natural colour work and long hair.
She loves the feeling of making her clients feel great about themselves & we can guarantee they will with her experience and skills.
Bonus fact: she’s the adventurous one & well travelled so if you need tips and a tour on where to go around the world she’s the one to ask.
